Mildura Street, Bellerive - Changes to Parking Arrangements

Consultation has concluded

Background

Council has received a number of requests to review the parking arrangements on Mildura Street, Bellerive.

The existing parking arrangement on Mildura Street consists of 23 all-day parking spaces, and four two-hour parking spaces located on the southern side of Mildura Street near the Gordons Hill Road intersection.

Council has been monitoring the parking behaviour on Mildura Street and observed that the all‑day parking spaces are occasionally fully occupied with low parking turnover.

As a result, council is considering increasing the number of time‑limited parking spaces on Mildura Street to provide more parking opportunities for visitors into the area.

Proposed options

The following three options are proposed:

Option 1: Convert four all-day parking spaces at the eastern end of Mildura Street

Convert four all-day parking spaces at the eastern end of Mildura Street on the north side to two-hour parking. The new time-limited parking spaces would be outside 12 and 14 Mildura Street. This option minimises the amount of parking manoeuvres at the intersection and associated road safety risks.

Option 2: Convert four all-day parking spaces on the northern side of Mildura Street

Convert four all-day parking spaces on the northern side of Mildura Street near the intersection of Gordons Hill Road to two-hour parking. The new time-limited parking spaces would be outside 2 and 4 Mildura Street. With all time‑limited parking spaces at the western end of Mildura Street they would provide quicker and easier access to shops and businesses in the surrounding area.

Option 3: No change

No changes and parking arrangements remain as they are.
