What is the Help to Health project?

The Help to Health project is made up of four different initiatives that help the community get better access to health care and to take more control of their health and wellbeing needs. These initiatives are:

    What is 'The Right Place'?

The Right Place is focussed on supporting the people in Tasmanian communities to find the services they need when they need them.

Connecting people with health and community services.

What is 'It's OK to Ask'?

It’s OK to Ask messages and workshops support people to get the most from visits to health services.

Help to Health offers two types of It’s OK to Ask workshops:

    1. Workshops for the community. This workshop gives people strategies and resources to make informed decisions about their health care, to get and share the information they need at their health care appointments.
    2. Workshops for health and community workers. This workshop provides strategies and resources to support others in obtaining information and asking questions to gain the most from their health care appointments.

    What is 'Clarence Talks'?

Clarence Talks are free monthly health and wellbeing information sessions for the community.

Help to Health organises talks at different times and locations across Clarence. The topic is always around health and wellbeing. Different speakers from many different organisations present the talks. Topics are chosen based on what community would like to know more about. Talks provide information on supports and services available to help the community. The talks are casual and give people an opportunity to ask questions.

We hope the community will learn information to help them live well.

What is 'Help to Health Friends'?

Help to Health Friends are members of the Clarence community who are interested in health and wellbeing. A Help to Health Friend is someone who wants to learn about, share and promote health and wellbeing information with friends, family, neighbours, communities and work colleagues to encourage and support people to find the help they need.

Help to Health Friends volunteer their time to:

    • Participate in learning opportunities when they are available

    • Share with other people what they learn

    • help their community by sharing health and wellbeing information
