Lifetime of use of the ‘dogs off’ lead areas

My husband and I have lived in Clarence since 1976, 45 years. We lived on Gordon’s Hill and now Natone Hill, both have ‘Off Lead‘ areas that we have enjoyed, for our families and dogs exercising. We have respected both areas over these years, never having a bad experience with people or dogs.

When we needed to downsize we chose an area with a OFF LEAD dog trail, as this was very important to us as dog owners. We use the Natone Hill and the Anzac Park areas daily, meeting with others everyday, it is a community of people and dogs that look after and care for both areas, reporting any problems to the Council, which is very rare. The community respects the ANZAC memorials and gardens, it use is in itself a security for the park, the vandals have no chance to damage the area when it’s in constant use. I feel the sailors, airmen, soldiers would welcome the company everyday, instead of it use ONLY three or four times a year.

We walk to all these OFF LEAD dog areas, this so important for our health as seniors, also our ability to stay in our homes.

We urge the councillors to leave the OFF LEAD areas in Clarence as they are PLEASE, PLEASE!
