What is Water Sensitive Urban Design (reference for question 5 in survey)

Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is an approach to planning and designing urban areas to make use of valuable water run-off from roads which often contains chemicals and pollutants. A WSUD treatment like a rain garden or swale collects water off the road, it soaks through the plants and filter, trapping rubbish and pollutants, preventing them from entering the stormwater system and ending up in our rivers and oceans.
