Project Overview

The purpose of the Greater Hobart Economic Analysis project is to develop a consistent baseline of data for the region and its comprising local government areas as well as identifying economic opportunities for the region. This information will be used to inform council strategies and projects relating to the local economy.

Project Information

Brighton Council, Clarence City Council, Glenorchy Council, The City of Hobart and Kingborough Council have embarked on a project to establish a baseline of data for to the Greater Hobart region (and the comprising local government areas) to form a consistent database to inform collaborative region wide economic and industry development.

The councils are hoping to capture the experience and expertise of Tasmanian businesses to inform growth opportunities, barriers, employee upskilling/ training goals, strategic direction, and business profile and plans. The results will be used to establish baseline data, identify potential opportunities for the region and identify the role of each Council that exists in these opportunities.
