If I die and come back as a dog...I’d live at Lauderdale

To be clear , I don’t currently own a dog ....haven’t for the last 12 years since our wonderful old bloke “Lico “ passed away before we moved here from Queensland ...but I am a dog person , always have been .

I love watching them ,love seeing them , love hearing them ...chase the waves , the birds ,the balls , on this beautiful beach here at Lauderdale where we are blessed to live.

And that’s why I’m disappointed to read that Council is considering not allowing dogs down our end of the beach here at Laudie....at all!!

We were blessed to have bought here 2 years ago on the beach .In that time We have got to know our neighbourhood humans largely by the neighbourhood dogs who walk and wander and wade along and in the beach in front of us.

We live in between little scruffy “Bessie” on one side and feisty young “Lettitia” ,and the gentleman “Caesar” on the other and across the road from the ever energetic and smiling “Lloyd” .; “Ozzie”up the road , and the beautiful , black “Bella” from down the end of Bayview... “Molly” ,”Gus”, “Harry” “Harley” and of course , dear old shambling “Abbey” ... just a few of the “locals”who stop by to chat on the beach or say gday to our chooks while we humans get to know one another over the fence or on the sand and share why we love living here in this amazing place .

The beach here at Laudie is the one place that we all, people and pooch , share and care about . The one place where what we do , what we look like , smell like , sound like ...what ever our politics ,our preferences, our personalities are , it dissolves away as we wander and share this stretch of gorgeous together !

I feel a large chunk of what we moved here for and have learnt to love about Laudie will disappear if we stop Bessie, Molly, Lettie,Caesar, Ziggy, Bella , Lloydie’, Gus,Harry ,Harley et al ... and of course the beautiful Miss Abbey , among too many to mention from enjoying this part of the world

As a non dog owning dog lover I’m very happy to share this beach south of Roches to Mays with you and your humans!!!! Think long and hard ....please CCC !!!
