Making our house and community feel like home

We bought our house from Housing Tasmania as low income first home buyers through the 'STREETS AHEAD' program a little over 21 years ago. We are slowly working on our home, still on low incomes, to make it feel more homely. And I joined the One Community Together collective about 6-7 years ago, so I could do my part to help make our community feel more homely.

I love the hills, the rural feel, the bushland surrounding us, the birds, the fact we are so close to some of Tasmania's lovely beaches, rivulets and rivers. I love nature, and I love the peace and quiet. I have two grown up boys, who both went to the local government schools, and they are wonderful schools, with lovely, caring staff.

There are a lot of public open spaces in Clarence Plains, that is one of the things I love about this community, and they need lots of development to make them beautiful peaceful spaces for everyone to use.

There are some really lovely people who live in Clarence Plains. And together, we can make a wonderful difference.
