Carbeen Bushland Reserve Activity Plan 2021-2030

The first stage of this consultation has now closed for review.

Project overview

We are developing a Carbeen Bushland Reserve Activity Plan 2021-2030, which seeks to build a shared responsibility among the community and landowners to support the management of priority cultural, social and natural values.

Background

The area of interest is a small, council-managed 1.32-hectare bushland reserve located at 28 Carbeen Street, Mornington.

A map highlighting the areas of interest is included in the document library.

The broad objectives of the reserve activity planning process are to:

  • Ensure the reserve is sustainably managed to preserve and enhance its natural, cultural and social values.
  • Identify priority management activities to be undertaken with the reserve by council and/or volunteer groups as resources become available.
  • Encourage community engagement through raising awareness of the reserve’s values and encourage participation in activities to minimise threats to these values.

Have your say

In the first stage of this consultation, we are seeking community feedback and ideas to help develop a draft plan.

This key stage will include an online survey asking for general comments and ideas on what should be included in the Reserve Activity Plan, as well as a Walk and Talk session.

Community feedback received will then be tabled in the draft plan.

For more information, contact Project Officer Phil Watson on 03 6217 9713 or email pwatson@ccc.tas.gov.au; or Project Consultant Grant Daniels on 03 6231 9788 or email gdaniels@northbakers.com.au.

Walk and Talk

Interested community members are invited to attend a Walk and Talk session to discuss issues of interest and concerns with council representatives and the consultant in relation to the Carbeen Bushland Reserve.

It will be held on Sunday 14 March 2021 at 2.30pm at 28 Carbeen Street, Mornington.
